RESEARCH NOTE: It is interesting to note in my years of research the different spellings of names throughtout the history of certain families, such as this one. In this example the baptism given name for Marcel in St-Hermas, Québec was Marcel CHÉNIER. His recorded name at his first marriage with Exilda Viau in Plantagenet, Ontario was Marcel CHÉNIER. His recorded name at his second marriage to Mélina Séguin was Marcel CHESNIER. In all 3 of these events there is no mention of a given name of Honoré. Yet for the birth and baptism records of 8 of his 9 children with Mélina Séguin (sometimes spelled Délima Séguin) the father's name at each of these events is Honoré, no other given name! No mention of Marcel in all of these 8 events. The birth and baptism record for his first child with Mélina Séguin, Arthur Chénier was unreadable to myself. Also to note Mélina Séguin's given has often been written in the church registers as Délima.
