     Charles Frederick (LEWIS) YOUNG, born on 24 April 1914 in Buckingham, QC, Canada,¹ and was baptized on 3 May 1914 in St-Grégoire-de-Naziance (1887-1920), Buckingham, QC, Canada. Godparents: Ephrain Tourangeau & Mithilda Raymond.¹ He married Micheline Whilhelmine Edna Marie CHENIER, daughter of Osias CHENIER and Marie-Anne SCANTLAND, on 22 December 1938 in Malartic, QC, Canada.² He died in 1979 in Masson-Angers, QC, Canada.³

Research Notes: In the margin of Charles Frederick Lewis' baptismal record there is a note to the effect that says he married Marie Wilhelmire Edna Chénier 22 Dec 1938 in St.Martin-de-Malartic, Abitib, QC.
There is an interesting switch in the family surname as records from the Cheeney papers indicate the surname as YOUNG, as well as the obituary for Annette Chénier where it mentions her sister Léona as the wife of Joseph YOUNG.
Charles' baptismal record does not mention anywhere the surname YOUNG and it mentions his father's surname as LEWIS.
It should also be noted that Edna's name was listed somewhere as "Elfie"!
Further research on the 10 Jan 2005 at the Archives in Gatineau shows that Charles Frederick's grandmother was Mary Young!
It would appear that sometime after Charles Frederick Lewis was born and before his marriage to Edna Chenier his family name was changed from LEWIS to YOUNG, that of his grandmother. The reasons for this has so far not been found. It should be noted that Charles brother Joseph Edward was also born as LEWIS and before he married his surname was changed to YOUNG, that of his grandmother.
Apparently, the Lewis family emmigrated to Canada in the late 1870's and lived on a farm near Glen Almond, QC. While on this farm the children's family name was changed to their grandmother's name and so the Lewis family name slowly faded away. I found, in Jan 2005, that most of the Young family members are not aware that they are in fact descendants of Charles LEWIS and Mary Young. This last statement was passed on to me by a conversation in Jan 2005 (and reaffirmed on the 19 Jan 2008) with a sister of Joseph Edward Young and Charles Fredericjk Young. Her name is Mary Young, born 13 May 1925 and married to Lesley Biehler.¹
